Harrods: Chinese New Year 2014
Heralding the start of 2014 Harrods have a spectacular window display design to celebrate Chinese New Year. 2014 is China’s year of the horse …..
JUSTSO produced the stunning hand sculpted stallions that flank the mannequins in the individual windows. They are resplendent with the lush colours of a tropical Asian sunset: poppy reds, saffron yellows and glowing golds…… The amazing Harrods team have dressed the ladies in classic couture from designers such as, Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford , Dior , Erdem and Roberto Cavalli to name but a few.
The mannequins are wearing the most exclusive collection of head dresses from the globally acclaimed milliner Philip Treacy OBE, these pieces are his prized personal archive collection and are only for exhibition purposes, though his current collection is for sale in store.
Philip Treacy has designed hats for Alexander McQueen’s white Haute Couture collection at Givenchy, for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, for Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan. He was awarded the title of British Accessory Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards on five occasions during the early 1990s. The late Isabella Blow, style editor of Tatler, helped Treacy launch himself as a well-known milliner and wore many of his hats. He has also designed hats for various Harry Potter films , Sarah Jessica Parker Sex and the City and the famous Lady Gaga Friday Night with Jonathan Rossand many more.
These incredibly elegant and beautiful hats are a key visual merchandising element of this captivating creative window display design wishing everyone a wonderful start to the New Year!
Happy Chinese New Year from JUSTSO.
