Harrods: James Bond Skyfall
In October 2012, JUSTSO were approached by Harrods to help create the window display design celebrating 50 years of James Bond, and the new movie Skyfall.
As a part of the displays showcasing this iconic movie series, Just So and Harrods worked with Land Rover to incorporate the Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab Pick Up, as driven by field agent Eve in the Skyfall opening sequence, into the windows.
John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director said; “We are thrilled to be part of the Harrods windows celebrating the release of Skyfall and the 50th Anniversary of the franchise. In displaying the Land Rover Defender that was actually used on screen we hope to bring a taste of behind the scenes action to our first ever James Bond Harrods window.”
It was down to JUSTSO to make sure that this wonderful vehicle was properly displayed for movie fans to enjoy. The design team got to work to create a mini film set in the space, so that the Land Rover would be displayed in the context of a film shoot. Designs for surfaces, buildings and props were focused on filming in Istanbul, where the vehicle’s scenes for the opening sequence of the movie was shot.
Getting the Land Rover into the store required a lot of planning, and was manoeuvred into the window display design after Harrods had closed to the public. We had one night to get everything set up and in place before the grand unveiling of the windows to the public the following day. Land Rover made this short film showing the behind-the-scenes process of getting everything installed in time.
The internet has been awash with some great comments and pictures from fans of the movie franchise and the Land Rover brand. JUSTSO are proud to have been involved in our third consecutive set of James Bond movie windows.
