Tristan Capital Partners: Wentworth Dinner

The JUSTSO is an Event Management Agency London. Our events team were approached by Tristan Capital Partners to assist with the organisation of the annual Black Heart Challenge charity golf day at Wentworth Golf Club to raise money for Eastside Young Leaders Academy (EYLA). Initial briefings and client meetings enabled the team to begin pulling together a proposal for theme, dressing of the space, entertainment and menu choices. With 2012 being a busy year in England including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, we decided a “Best of British” theme would suit well and all elements would be based around this. The Guests were mainly international, so a tongue-in-cheek representation of all that is British seemed to tie in perfectly.

Site visits to Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey including site surveys and true British style menu tasting were completed. The evening was to be full of surprises such as the retro beach buckets filled with oversized classic sweeties, traditional Beefeaters to announce dinner, Cigar Bar, Jo Malone hand massages and dancing serving wenches. Floor plans were drawn up to ensure that the 220 guests would be seated comfortably in the ballroom for a sit down meal. Entertainment was booked including lookalikes of the Queen, Wills & Kate, Posh & Becks, A Saxaphone Player, A Guitarist, Joe Stilgoe Band, DJ and Dancers.  Banquet style tables were drapped in royal blue cloths and surrounded with bright red covered chairs wrapped in gorgeous organza sashes. Silver candelabras filled with  Roses, Gloriosia, Dahlias and trailing Amaranthus went down the centre of the table and the Inkerman table gifts looked gorgeous with their ideal red packaging! The main part of the event was the carefully organised live auction hosted by Jonny Gould, with guests bidding throughout the day via the silent auction using IBid devices for prizes such as a tour of the Red Bull racing factory, a luxury short break to Abu Dhabi and Theo Fennell cufflinks. The event raised in excess of £200,000 for The Black Heart Foundation.

Following the dinner there was a late night party in the Burma Bar of Wentworth Golf Club. The JUSTSO Event Management Agency London team worked to transform this space to fit with the theme, with branded balloons, a pixel dance floor with brand logos and the union jack flag, coloured bar stools and light up poseur tables.

Around midnight there was a floodlit golf tournament for the guests and Greg Norman, the Australian golf legend, was around to show off some skills. After building up a bit of an appetite again, some late night sausage and chips were served to keep the guests going! Overall a successful event that went on well into the night.
